Nestled in Haulover Beach Park between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, this marina is minutes away from spectacular fishing. It is home to the largest charter/drift fishing fleet in South Florida. The newly renovated Bill Bird Marina featuring a full-service marina, with gated entry to 152 wet slips, accommodating vessels from 35’ to 120’. Each slip provides access to electricity and water. The dockmaster building offers marina patrons a laundry room with coin-operated washers and dryers, vending machines, ice, and restrooms with showers. In addition, the marina features a dive boat, fuel dock, pump-out station, bait & tackle stores, boat launching ramps, dry storage, boat and jet-ski rentals, boat repairs, and a restaurant.

It has a dockside restaurant and bar, Ocean Grill Restaurant, large picnic pavilion and grill, bikeways, jogging trails, and a jetty which extends 1.5 miles into the Bay, enabling fishing enthusiasts to cast from shore.

It's a great beach for beginners, or those who simply enjoy a peaceful practice session. Matheson Hammock Park is a lovely scenic park with an unusual feature--a man-made atoll pool, which is flushed naturally with the tidal action of nearby Biscayne Bay. Its tranquil breeze-swept beach is a haven for families who enjoy its warm, safe waters and beautiful waterside views. Matheson is also a prime spot for Kite-Boarding. Its active breezes and calm shallow waters make launching easy. The park also has a full-service marina, snack bar and restaurant built into an historic coral rock building, picnic pavilions and nature trails. Matheson also contains a sailing and powerboat school.

Pelican Harbor is a great "in-town" marina where you can cruise the intracoastal for great shopping or dining or head out to sea with great ocean access at either Haulover Inlet or Government Cut. Pelican Island, a nature preserve and bird sanctuary, is just 400 yards offshore. You can take your boat or a marina water-taxi to the beautiful 10-acre island, which has "chickees" open huts with thatched roofs, barbecue grills, picnic tables and a sand volleyball court (bring your own net and ball). The island is open to the public and can be reserved for large groups.
